Report of Commissioners to locate the seat of Justice of Miller County, filed October 23d, 1832. N. G. Crittenden, Clk. United States of America, Territory of Arkansas, Miller County. This day personally appeared before me Thomas P. Eskridge, a Judge of the Superior (court) for said Territory, William Collum, Charles Burkham, Travis G. Wright and Samuel Worthington, commissioners appointed by an act of the Legislature of Arkansas, entitled "an act permanently to locate the seat of justice in the county of Miller and more distinctly to define the boundary lines of said county", approved November 3d, 1831, and respectively took the following oath: "that they will impartially and to the best of their judgment locate the seat of Justice for the County of Miller, as little as may be to the prejudice of a majority of the people of the county, taking into consideration donations, future divisions and the convenience of the people of the county". |

To the Honorable the circuit court in and for the County of Miller now
in session:
The undersigned commissioners appointed by law to locate the seat of Justice for the said county of Miller report that in pursuance of the statute in such case made and provided, they have located the seat of Justice of said county in the town of Jonesboro in said County of Miller and that they have a house prepared for the reception of the court in said town of Jonesboro all which is respectfully |
