born January 23, 1861, married February 21, 1878, John Smiley Wilkinson, farmer of this place and they continued to live there. John S. Wilkinson died Feb. 13, 1921. Ten children were born to them, as follows: 1. Marion McMillan Wilkinson, married Tom Keeth, later in business at Bogata. Now in insurance business here. One son, Thomas Marion Keeth, now lives in North Carolina, married Lenore Hendricks of Longview, Texas. 2. Mary Helen Wilkinson, died in childhood. 3. Elizabeth Jane Wilkinson, married Walter McDavid, Florida, now resides in Bogata where he is employed at the postoffice. 4. John Duncan Wilkinson, "John, Jr.", married Myrtle Simmons, now manager of a gin at Bogata. Their four children are: John Neil Wilkinson, married Ardelia George of Franklin County, one child, Annelia. Is employed at filling station in Bogata; Mary Allene Wilkinson, at home, Ruth Simmons Wilkinson, at home, Esther, died in childhood.
5. George Melvin Wilkinson, "Mel", married Veva Harmon, of Clarksville,
farmer, then in business here, now moving to Albuquerque, New Mexico.
Two children died in infancy. Two daughters living are: Ada Elizabeth
Wilkinson, married J. Lee Rutledge of Albuquerque, where they make their
home, have one child, Lee Allison Rutledge; Sara Vesta Wilkinson, in
high school.
