exception of his eldest daughter, Ophelia, who married William Moore of Mt. Airy, North Carolina and remained there) moved to Red River County and bought land near Clarksville and devoted the remaining years of his life to growing cotton.

A. M., Charlie, Albert and Drury Taylor studied law and obtained their licenses to practice. The youngest boy, Debernia, was studying law when he died at the age of 18. A. M. Taylor served two terms in the Texas Legislature, later marrying Sallie Norris of Detroit, Texas, and moving to Austin. He died at the [age] of thirty-six. Albert moved to Chicago, married Miss Bertha Greenbaum and died there. Ida married W. P. Latimer of Clarksville.

Drury discontinued the practice of law to work in the county clerk's office, afterwards holding the office of county clerk himself. He married Lindsey Bagby and continued to live in Clarksville. He bought land near Clarksville and raised cotton on it. He was assistant cashier of the City National Bank for a number of years. Drury Taylor died March 2, 1932.

Joe Taylor married Margaret Lamb. He entered the newspaper business when he was a very young man, buying half-interest in the Clarksville Times. He and Mr. Sam [Samuel B.] Stanley were editors of this paper for fifteen years. He then accepted a position with the Dallas News, and, after a short time was made State Press editor. He is with this paper in this capacity at the present time.
