the son of Dick Chambless and the nephew of Dr. J. A. Chambless.

[The Brandon Family]

Mr. William Drury Brandon, formerly of Arkansas, came with his parents, Hiram and Nancy Brandon, to Red River County about 1866, and has since lived in and around Woodland. Mr. Brandon was closely associated with Arch Stuart in their boyhood days.

[The Stuart Family]

Mr. C. H. Stuart was the son of Robert and Nannie Harris Stuart. Mr. Stuart came to Texas in 1856 and was married in Red River County in 1872. Mr. and Mrs. Stuart had two children: Claud and Clara. Mr. Stuart was married the second time and had seven children, four of whom are now living: Bob, Maggie, Arch, and Walker Stuart. Maggie married Amos Phillips, now postmaster at Woodland. The Stuarts have been identified all the time with that class of people who stood for the moral uplift of the county and neighborhood, with all civic improvements, both in the church and state, and are widely and favorably known all over the county.

[The Tinsley Family]

Mr. J. A. and Mary Lou Tinsley and their son, J. D., came to Texas in 1858. To them were born three children, namely: J. D., Nannie and Charles R., deceased. Miss Nannie E. married Guy S. Riddley. J. D. Tinsley now lives at the old home place near Woodland, settling here about 1859. He now lives in the house he moved into while a small boy.
