money I was unable to get but very little of the vast amount of interesting history that should have been recorded from these early Texans in this part of the State. Elimination of matter upon which to write and picking only that which was the most interesting has been my greatest task. Time is passing rapidly and I realize that what I do must be done quickly. Candidly, I must say what there is of interest in these few pages is but little compared to the great volumes that could have been prepared on the early settlement of Texas in connection with Clarksville and Red River County.
