Letter from Mr. Amick/Wamick of Rockwall
to the parents (Moses and Mary Jane) of Thomas Henry Powers

This letter was transcribed by Donna Jane Whitchurch. She borrowed it from her Grandmother over forty years ago to use as a part of a Bicentennial Project for Newton County, Missouri in 1975. The original letter was destroyed by fire. Upon research by Diana Steele Spencer, a cousin of Donna, it is possible that the signature at the end of the letter was actually Alvin A. Amick who lived in the Rockwall area during the time period.
