**Notes on Ben Boydstun:
He came to TX in 1856, and soon his brother, William T Boydstun, followed with his family.
Benjamin Boydstun was an early school teacher in Kaufman and Rockwall Counties and taught there many years.
He became known as "Uncle Benny" in his later years and was also a surveyor whose name appears on many deeds in both counties.
In 1871 he opened a mercantile with his son, John -
"B.F.Boystun & Sons, Mercantile" - in the town of Rockwall, and he worked at the business until his death.Census Records:

"Frank Clark came to this community from the state of Missouri and settled about one
and a half miles north of the town of Rockwall.
In the year 1856, at the same time his father-in-law came and settled at the same place.
On April 14th, 1864 and during the war, Frank Clark was married to Harriet Marinda Boydstun.
Most everyone here knows his family and as I said before, she was my schoolmate,
she was called Rinda and most of the boys and all of the girls loved her.

Francis Clark is found in the 1860 census of Freestone County.
Frank 's first wife, Drucilla Smith, daughter of William H Smith
and sister of Presley Edward Smith, died in Freestone County in 1859 and
is buried in the Cotton Gin Cemetery, as is their son, William Clark.
In the 1870 census of Kaufman Co TX Presley E Smith and Francis Clark are neighbors.

Elizabeth Ann "Lizzie" Tucker
**Notes on John D Boydstun:
He was schooled by his father in the local schools and worked farming
his father's land until the outbreak of the Civil War. Originally at
age 17 he mustered into Col. Griffith's Militia and in 1862 he enlisted in
Co K 2nd TX Cavalry -Stone's regiment.
He was wounded during the Red River Campaign at Pleasant Hill in April 1864,
receiving a fractured skull, and was then discharged in May of that year.
Following the Civil War years, J. D. Boydstun became a merchant in Rockwall,
Kaufman County, with his father at B F Boydstun & Son Mercantile.
He had three mercantiles by 1890, with partnerships in gins, saw mills and other enterprises.
Mr. & Mrs. J. D. Boydstun raised their family in Rockwall, but later in their
lives the couple and 4 of their children, B. L., Dora, W. D. and Myrtle, became settlers of Callahan County
at Baird.
