J. D. “Dempsey” Edgar, 83, of Hemphill died Sunday, April 8, 2002 at his residence. A resident of Remlig, TX. He lived in Hemphill 29 years. He was Sales Manager in Lumber Industry.  Funeral Services will be Wednesday, April 10, at Starr Funeral Home in Hemphill with burial in Oakhill Cemetery. Survivors include: wife: Letitia Edgar of Hemphill, TX, Sons: George D. Edgar of Hemphill, TX, Jack William Edgar of El Paso, TX, Wayne Smith of Midlothian, TX, daughters: Ruth Ann Walker of El Paso, TX, Letitia Ann Brittain of Dallas, TX, brothers: W. Tim Edgar of Beaumont, TS., Truitt Edgar of Vidor, TX, Tommy Edgar of Lumberton, TX, sister: Billie Jean Veal of Kountze, TX, 14 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren. Visitation will be Tuesday, April 9, from 2:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Starr Funeral Home. Donations may be made to Lakes Area Hospice, 254 Ethel St., Jasper, TX 75951.
