	Emma Elnora Hall, Paper Unknown, April 1967 San Augustine (Spl) Funeral services for Mrs. Emma Elnora Hall 86 of Rosevine community near San Augustine, will begin at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday in Rosevine Baptist Church. The Rev. Noel Hammock of Beaumont will officiate, and theRev. Raymond T. Alford of Pineland will Assist. Bural in Rosevine Cemetery will be under direction of Wyman Roberts Funeral Home of San Augustine, Pallbearers will be J. W. and Larry Kilcrease, Charles Hall,Hulen Turner, Verlon Buckley and Tommy Clyde Andrews. Mrs. Hall died at 5:20 a.m. Tuesday in her home after an extended illness. She was a lifelong resident of Rosevine and was a baptist. Survivors are four daughters, Mrs. Vivian Love and Mrs.Ollie Buckley, both of Bronson, and Mrs. Winnie Turner of Kirbyville and Mrs. Pauline Satterwhite of Nacogdoches; Three sons, Earl and Elray Hall, both of Bronson, and Rolan Hall of Houston; a brother John F. Hargrove of San Augustine;13 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. ********************************* Emma Elnora "Nora" HARGROVES was born 19 Nov 1880 and died 4 Apr 1967. 	OBITUARY HARDEMAN The people of Minden were inexpressively saddened when the message was received stating the death of Harriett Currie Hardeman, wife of Harry H. Hardeman of Minden. Mrs. Hardeman died in Rochester, Minnesota, Sunday, February 27th 1927, following an illness which became so grave a nature, that she was rushed to Mayo Hosp where her death occurred soon after. She was born in Corrigan, Texas, her parents, W. D. Currie and Frances Elizabeth Currie died some years ago. She was married to Harry H. Hardeman December 28th 1919 at the home of her brother C. R. Currie in Garrison Texas. The deceased is survived by her husband, one little daughter, Harriett, three sisters, Mrs. Clyde Kinder, Homer, La.; Miss Minnie Currie, New York City, and Miss Ruby Mae Currie, Vivian, La.; and brothers, C. R. Currie, Garrison Texas; V. B. Currie, B. S. Currie, Hemphill, Texas and M. A. Currie, Fastrill, Texas and uncle, Malcom Currie, Burks, Texas. The greater portion of the life of Mrs. Hardeman, before her marriage, was spent in Zwolle, La., where her parents resided for a number of years. Mrs. Hardeman was a graduate of the Normal College at Natchitoches, La., she attended Columbia University, New York; Peabody University, Nashville, Tennessee; University of Colorado and graduated from the University of Alabama at Auburn, where she received a Master’s degree. She was very ambitious and while frail in body, her brilliant mind was ever alert, grasping the deeper problems which might well tax the mind of more mature and experienced scholars. While devoted to her studies and possessed with a burning desire for more and more knowledge she was always the most devoted mother and wife, never for one moment did a desire for other attainments lessen a love and service, which was beautiful in its entirety. Failing in health she was accompanied by her devoted husband and little daughter to Colorado, where the past months were spent. Messages would come from time to time from her and the cheerful expression would ring true to her nature, which would never brook defeat, even in sickness. A determination to live for her husband, her little daughter, her sisters, brothers, and those she held most dear, actuated her very being. Funeral services were conducted from the Methodist Church in Minden of which she was a devoted member, uniting with the organization when very young. Reverend L. I. McCain read the sacred service and touching testimony was given of the life of the beautiful young woman – beautiful in person as well as in character. The chancel and altar were banked with exquisite flowers, tokens of the deepest love and esteem. These beautiful flowers but fit emblems of the spirit of her who loved all things lovely. Interment was made in the City Cemetery and offerings were rich in floral display. The words of comfort and sacred hymns linger and there comes blessed realization the “We Shall Meet Again.” All members of the immediate family, with the exception of the little daughter of Mrs. Harriet Currie Hardeman, who remained with a friend in Colorado were present to the services of the deceased. 	Final Rites for Mrs. Hubley, 72 Held Friday Funeral services for Mrs. Olivia Pratt Hubley, 72, of Hemphill, who died Thursday at 7:15 a.m. in her home after a long illness, was held at 3 p.m. Friday in the Starr Funeral Home Chapel. She was a native of Alabama, moving to Sabine county with her parents in 1890. She and her husband returned to Hemphill about three months ago from Jacksonville, Texas, where they had resided for several years. The Rev. Clarence Howell, pastor of the First Baptist Church of Hemphill, officiated, assisted by the Rev. Lovis Dunn, pastor of the East Mayfield Baptist Church of Hemphill, and the Rev. Louis W. Pratt, of Garland. Burial was under the direction of Starr Funeral Home of Hemphill. Survivors include her husband, L. F. Hubley of Hemphill; one daughter, Mrs. Jeannie Barnes of Pasadena, Texas; three sisters, Mrs. Edward Harper, Mrs. W. E. Coussons and Mrs. Giles Smith, all of Hemphill; three brothers, Horace Pratt, Lewis Pratt and Henry Pratt, all of Hemphill, and one grandchild. Out-of-town people who attended the funeral for Mrs. Olivia Pratt Hubley held Friday were: Sam Jones, Virgie Wood and Mr. and Mrs. Tell Simpson, all of Jacksonville; Mr. and Mrs. Arch Redding of Garrison, Mr. and Mrs. Cleve Hubley and Mrs. H. W. Hubley, Jr. of Shreveport, La., Mrs. Nannie Pratt of Tyler, Mrs. and Mrs. Bill Pratt and daughters of Houston, Mr. and Mrs. Paul Coussons, and sons of Houston, Mr. and Mrs. James Barns and son of Pasadena, Rev. 	HEMPHILL - Funeral for Ester Lynn Huff, 75, of Hemphill was to be at 2 p.m. today in the First Baptist Church with burial in the Hemphill Cemetery under direction of Starr Funeral Home. She died at 5:40 a.m. Wednesday in Mary Dickerson Hospital in Jasper following an illness. She had lived in Sabine County 58 years and taught mathematics at Hemphill High School and in the Brookeland school systems. Survivors include five sons: W. A. Parker of Jasper, John R. Parker and Charles Huff, both of Hemphill. Edward Huff of Beaumont and J. D. Huff of Houston; two daughters, Marilynn Craig of Jasper and Doris Mathies of National City, Calif; a brother, Robert L. Currie of Fort Worth; two sisters, Mrs. Ardath Waldrop of Jasper and Helen Stinson of Vidor; 24 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren. *************************** Esta Lynn Currie was born Nov. 25, 1901 in Zwolle, Sabine Parish, LA. to Van Buren "Dutch" Currie and Frances Elizabeth "Fannie" Montgomery Currie. She married Alton B. Parker on June 26, 1922 in Sabine Co., TX. After Alton's early death on March 5, 1930, she married J. D. Huff on April 11, 1931 in Sabine Co., TX (Edward, J. D. & Doris were her stepchildren)
	HYDEN
	James N. Hyden Dies In Houston Funeral services for James N. Hyden, 79, of Hemphill, was held Monday at 2 p.m. in the Methodist Church with the Rev. D. Harrel Dunnam officiating. Burial was in the Hemphill Cemetery under the direction of the Starr Funeral Home of Hemphill. Mr. Hyden died Saturday at 2 a.m. in the home of his daughter, Mrs. Frank Adams of Houston after a long illness. He was a lifelong resident of Sabine County and a retired employee of Southern Pine Lumber Co., where he worked in the timber and land department. Prior to his work at Southern Pine, Mr. Hyden served as deputy sheriff under George Russell, Sr. for 11 years. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Lee Hyden, the daughter, Mrs. Adams; a sister, Mrs. Lewis Ener of Lake Charles La., a brother, John Hyden of Jasper, and three grandchildren. *************************************************** Obituary Sabine County Reporter, Hemphill, TX Born 28 Jan 1881, died 14 May 1960
