Born in Ga., the son of
William Henry Head (1812 ? 1862) and
Nancy Herrington (1811 ? 1883). In
1868 in Coffee Co., Ala. he married
Mary Theodocia "Docia" Beard (1847 ? 1898).
Their children included Ida Perilla Head (1869 ? 1901), W. H. Head
(1870 ? 1880), Nancy P. Head born about 1871, Aaron Joseph Head
(1872 ? 1955), U. A. Safronia Head born about 1874, Thomas
Jefferson "Jeffie" Head (1879 ? 1890), Ada Head born about 1881,
James Head born about 1883, Adolphus Head (1885 ? 1972), and John
Barney Head (1889 ? 1953). During the Civil War he enlisted in Co.
E, 6th Alabama Infantry from 1862 to 1865. He was shot twice
in his body and once near his knee during the war according to his
Confederate Pension Application approved 9 Oct 1899. |

William G. Howell (1818 ? 1903).
He married 27 May 1875 in Rutherford, Tenn. to
Julia Ann Mullins (22 Aug 1857 Tn. -
5 Feb 1929). Their children included John William Howell
(1878-1960), Thadeus Samuel Howell (1880-1971), James L. Howell
born about 1884, Birdie M. Howell born about 1889, and Ina Volena
Howell (1892-1966 married Norrie Alton Nichols and she is buried
Laurel Land Cem., Fort Worth, Tx.). During the Civil War he
enlisted in Co. B, 10th Kentucky Cavalry, John H. Morgan's
Command, CSA and was approved for a Confederate Veteran's Pension
filed in May 1916. Per Ronald Wade - Julia Ann Mullins, born in Tennessee,
the daughter of John Mulllins (born about 1818 Va.) and Sopha Mullins (born about 1823). She
married John Wilson Howell (1846-1916) and their children included John William Howell (1878-1960), Thadeus Samuel Howell (1880-1971), James L. Howell
born about 1884, Birdie M. Howell born about 1889, and Ina Volena
Howell (1892-1966 married Norrie Alton Nichols and she is buried
Laurel Land Cem., Fort Worth, Tx.). |
