Ronald Wade - James Welborne
(sometimes spelled Wellburn and Wilburn in records but his father
went by Wilborn), born in Tenn., the son of William Wilborn (born
1791 NC - 1860 Gregg Co., Tx. and the first postmaster of Pine
Tree, then-Upshur Co., Tx. in 1848) and
Nancy Ann Marriott (1794 NC ? 1876 Gregg
Co., Tx.). He was married to Ann E.
Welborne (born about 1839 Ala.) and their children included Infant
Son (1857-1857), James E. Welborne (1876-1877). On 5 Nov 1852 he
was appointed Postmaster of Sand Spring, Wood County, Texas. At
the time of the 1860 census he had 77 slaves in Upshur County.
During the Civil War he enlisted in and was 1st Sergeant in Co. C, 22nd Regiment, Texas Infantry (Hubbard's),

born in Hunt Co., Tx., she married 13 Jun 1866 to
Alfred S. D. McWatters (born about 1834 SC).
Their children included Sarah Ellen McWatters (1869-1904 buried in
this same cemetery), Samuel
S. McWatters (1871-1960), and Jessie Gertrude McWatters
(1873-1909). After her first husband's death she married 30
Oct 1876 in Gregg Co., Tx. to James T. White (1830-1892).
Their children included Joseph Dial White (1877 ? 1956), Catherine
White born about 1878, William T. White (1882 ? 1891), and Jimmie
Mary White (1888 ? 1902). |

married in Gregg Co., Tx. on 30 Oct 1876 to Catherine D. Dial (1850-1934).
Their children included Joseph Dial White (1877 ? 1956), Catherine
White born about 1878, William T. White (1882 ? 1891), and Jimmie
Mary White (1888 ? 1902). During the Civil War he
enlisted May 1861 in Capt. David Y. Gaines' Ed Clark Invincibles
of Smith County, 12th Texas Brigade
and later 22nd Regiment, Texas Infantry (Hubbard's). |

Shirley Bray: "Martha Ann is buried in an unmarked
grave in the Blackstone family plot in this cemetery. The only
record of her burial that's been found has been in the book titled
"Cousins by the Dozens" written in 1974 by Henry O. Blackstone.
Henry was the great nephew of Martha Ann and the son of James
Thomas Blackstone. The family called her "Aunt Matt". The last
finding of Martha Ann has been in the household of James T.
Blackstone, her nephew. Henry stated in his book the following
about her burial: "Martha Ann died in 1918 while living in the
home of Jas. T Blackstone. She is buried in the Chilton Cemetery
[Upshur Co., TX], in the south grave of this Blackstone plot.""
Born in Harris Co., Ga., She was born the daughter of
Jefferson Stringer (1811 - 1891) and
Jane E. Pope Stringer (1813 - 1846). She married
Isaac W. Satterwhite (born about 1832) and they were parents
of Joseph A. Satterwhite & John Marshall Satterwhite. Later she
married
James Rufus White (1822 - 1887) & they were parents of Lillie
E. White. And after Mr. White's death she married
Berry Bryant Wilson (1824 - 1893. |
