YOCOM, OLIVER, JR - EM 3/c Oliver Yocom,
Jr., son of Mr. and Mrs. A. O. Yocom, Gilmer, husband of Bunny Fines,
Iowa, attended Gilmer HS. Entered Navy in 1942, trained in San Diego
and Iowa. Served in SW Pacific. Awarded GC Medal and 2 Battle Stars.
Discharged in 1945. |

YOUNG, HERBERT L - SK 2/c Herbert L. Young, son of
Mr. and Mrs. D. O. Young, Gilmer, husband of Louise Wilson, attended
Gilmer HS. Entered Navy in 1942, trained at Norfolk, Va. and San Francisco.
Served aboard USS Latimer in Philippine, Iwo Jima and Okinawa. Awarded
Navy Unit Commendation. Discharged in 1945. |

YOUNG, LUTHER A - S 1/c Luther A. Young, son of Mr.
and Mrs. L. T. Young, Gilmer, attended East Mt. HS. Entered Navy in
1943, trained in San Diego. Served in APO and Philippines. Awarded
Bronze Star, APO with 5 Stars and Victory Ribbons. Discharged in 1946. |

YOUNGBLOOD, ERWIN ARDELL - Sgt. Erwin Ardell Youngblood,
son of Mr. and Mrs. S. A. Youngblood, Gilmer, attended ETSTC. Entered
Army in 1943, trained at Camp Hood and Maryland. Served in Germany,
France and Belgium. Awarded Purple Heart and Combat Badge. Wounded
in Germany, 1944. |

of Mr. and Mrs. Charlie Youngblood, Mings Chapel, husband of Alma
Holcomb, attended Mings Chapel HS. Entered Army in 1945, trained at
Ft. Lewis, Wash. Served in Germany. Awarded ETO Ribbon and Sharpshooters
Medal. |

of Mr. and Mrs. J. H. Youngkin, Pittsburg, attended Gilmer HS. Entered
Army in 1942, trained at Camp Wolters, Missouri and California. Served
in Aleutians and Alaska. Awarded GC and APO Ribbons with 1 Battle
Star. Discharged in 1945. |
