Comments: Robert MARSH began preaching at New Hope Baptist Missionary Church in 1883.  He was a circuit-riding Baptist preacher who helped to start many of the Missionary Baptist churches in the area.  His father, Alex MARSH was one of the first members of New Hope Church, having been baptized there in late 1855 or early 1856.  His mother was baptized at New Hope Church in 1870.
