Comments: A large portion of the current native Upshur County residents
can trace their lineage back to this Moon family. He and his family came to Texas with his father, Stephen Moon, about 1872.  They settled in the Grice-Rhonesboro area. Thomas purchased land from J. W. Davenport (part of the David Stinson survey) and this land was known by many as the "Old Moon Place".  This land was North of Grice.
