Comments: Two brothers, Hill And Jeff Parish/Parrish
came to Upshur Co. around 1875 with their wives. Traveling by wagon, pulled
by oxen made their home first in the Oak Hill comunity building the Parish
Chapel. Sometime around 1892 they disbanded the church and moved to Bettie.
There they help build the Bettie United Methodist Church.
