Comments: The time is not known when or where they move to Tennessee, but the family moved to Upshur Co. before the Civil War.  Barbara & Joseph had 7 sons.  At least 2 of them, John & Alexander served in the Civil War. Joseph & Barbara were Black Dutch. Joseph served as Upshur Co. Sheriff from Sept. 27, 1865 to June 25,1866. He was appointed sheriff by Gov. A. J. Hamilton.
