The Hybrid Shin Oak grove on FM 1930 about 13 miles east of Denver City, is said to be the largest specimen in the United States of this type of tree. In winter their leaves are sparse as in the photo at left, taken in February 2003.
In springtime, the green leaves give a nice shade as shown in the picture on the right, taken in May 2003. © Shirley D. Webb
