| E. Halley appears in the Young County 1860 census. He is living in the home of Young County Sheriff Ed Wolffarth with five other single men. E. Halley is 27 years old. He was working as a stage coach conductor for the Butterfield Overland Mail and Stage Company. The Butterfield Overland Mail and Stage Company operated from 1858 - 1861 in Young County. There were three stage stops in the county: Murphy's Station, Belknap and Cribbs Station. Stage coach records indicate a stage ran through Young County once a week. |
