It was a collection of farms located on California Creek. In the early 1900's, a 22 member church met in the area. There was a community school, which later consolidated into the Newcastle schools.

The school was located on the Texas Emigration & Land Company Survey #338, near its south boundary line.

Rabbit Creek cemetery is all that remains of this community.
