Colston Community

The Colston Community was located five miles north-northeast of Loving, in northeast Young County. It was named for J.W. Colston, who was at one time Young County Commissioner of Precinct # 4.

The Colston community school had two locations during its existence:

  • The first located on the Sylphia Tynes Survey, Abstact No. 274, one-half mile south of the G. W. Hoak land.
  • The last site was near the northwest corner of an 80 acre tract of land out of the Sylphia Tynes Survey, Abstract No. 274, known as the L. R. Drum land.

Nothing remains of this community.
