It was a collection of farms located on California Creek. For a time in the early 1900's it had a 22 member church and a community school, which later consolidated into the Newcastle schools.

The school was located on the Texas Emigration & Land Company Survey #338, near its south boundary line.

Rabbit Creek cemetery is all that remains of this community.
