Tonk Valley School

| My mother, Floy Belle [nee Reedy] Smith is the third with very black hair and a light or white dress from the top left. She was born in Megargel, Archer, Texas, on 20 December 1916, and would have been about age 17 in this picture. My mother was the daughter of Clifton and Annie Belle Reedy who lived on the Murray Route near Graham, Young, Texas. Here parenst are buried in the Medlan's Chapel cemtery in Young County. My mother died last 24 February 2003 in Tyler, Texas and is buried at Rondo Cemetery in the Rondo community in Arkansas, near Texarkana. I found this old picture among her belongings. I recall going to a Tonk Valley school reunion with her when I was about 11-12 years of age, and I was impressed that all in the group seemed so close. I hope someone recognizes their family in the picture. |
