son of
George Houston McCoy and Ethel Lyda

Enlisted 31 March 1945,  Fireman First Class
Small Boat Training - Coronado, California

Service Vessels:
USS AFD#10
USS Cowpens (CVL 25)

Honorable Discharge, 15 August 1946
Honorable Discharge Navy Reserve, 15 August 1951

He enlisted before the end of WWII and saw seven months of active duty in the Pacific arena before the war ended.



George Houston McCoy was born in 1888,
son of William Riley McCoy and
Mirrah Elizabeth "Bettie" Holland

George married Ethel Lyda, who was born in 1899
They were a farm family in Lake Victor.  They finally sold the farm and moved to Burnet in the mid 50s.
