Mr. George Ater, living in the eastern portion of the county, called on us last Monday. He informs that the wife of Mr. Eb. Smith, who resides on the Gabriel, in Williamson county, gave birth, on the night on the 13th inst., to four bouncing "baby gals," two weighing three pounds each, and the other two three and a half and four pounds, respectively. They were all alive  and doing well when last heard from. Hurrah for Williamson and the Smiths!

and lady, of Austin, arrived in town on Thursday last.  Mr. Carothers is widely known as an extensive stock dealer and every year our citizens sell him hundreds of cattle.

left here on last Wednesday.  He has finished receiving cattle at this place.  We hope he will visit us next spring and buy cattle, as he has left a good deal of money in this section. (Bluffton)
