Noreta Livergood
CRANE, TX
Noreta Ann Livergood, 63, died Monday, April 16, at her
residence.
Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m. today, April 19, at the
Episcopal Church of the Holy Trinity in Midland with Rev.
Stockton Williams officiating. Graveside services will be held at
2
p.m. on Saturday, April 21, at the Westlawn Memorial Park
Cemetery in Borger, with the Rev. Chip Allen officiating.
Services are under the direction of Shaffer-Nichols Funeral Home
of Crane.
She was born Aug. 30, 1938 in Lamesa. She was a secretary for
Tanner Insurance Company in Midland, and had lived in Midland for
20 years. She was secretary of the Insurance Women of Midland,
and a member of the Episcopal Church of the Holy Trinity.
Survivors include her mother, Sybil Bennett of Borger; two
sisters; Jimmie Goodenough of Gainsville and Marion Brown of Los
Cruces, N.M.

The McFadden Family lost a father and friend on Thursday,
December 18, 2003. Charlie was born on December 28, 1929
in Crowell, Texas. He was a 1948 graduate of McCamey High
School, and was a Korean War Veteran, serving in the
Marine Corp from 1948 to 1952. He married Ann Waterhouse
on February 28, 1953. He later married Sherian Buckley on
July 24, 1971. Charlie was an important part of the realm
of rodeo from competitor, judge, director, pick-up man,
and coach. Charlie was a rancher, cowboy, and rodeo was
his passion. He was loved and respected by all of those
who knew him. He will be missed.
Charlie was a longtime resident of Crane County and was a
member of the Crane Christian Church, the Southwestern
Cattle Raisers Association, and was a ASCS Board Member.
He was a Texas High School Rodeo Director.
He was preceded in death by his Mother, Georgia McFadden
Stribling; Son, Ray McFadden; Father, Earnest McFadden;
Wife Sherian McFadden; and sister, Della McFadden. He is
survived by sons, Clay McFadden and wife Nina of Lamesa,
TX and Cory McFadden and wife Leigh Ann of Coleman;
Daughters, Julie Hardcastle and husband Sam of Crane, and
Alison Davis and husband Shawn of Lampasas, TX; Brother,
Les McFadden of Rankin, Grandchildren, Cody McFadden and
wife Amber, Carter McFadden, Austin Hardcastle, Charlie
Ann Hardcastle, Cade Davis, Nicole Welch, and Jaylon
Welch; and special friend Barbara Chandler of Crane.
Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday,
December 21, 2003 in the Cross and Crown Church with
Reverend Jim Hester officiating. Burial will follow in
the
Crane County Cemetery with
arrangements under the direction of Shaffer-Nichols
Funeral Home of Crane.

Hubert D. Mills age 87 of Crane, passed
away Sunday, May 9, 2004 at the Crane Memorial Hospital.
Mr. Mills was born on December 23, 1916 in Quanah, Texas,
to Roy & Ellie Mills. Hubert grew up in Midland,
Texas and graduated from Midland High School. He was
married for 66 years to Pearl B. Mills who predeceased
him in 2002.
He was a resident of Crane for over 60 years having
retired from Gulf (Chevron) Pipeline after 38 years of
service. Hubert and Pearl were also owners of Crane
County Abstract Company for many years and retired from
that business four years ago. Mr. Mills was a 50-year
member of the First United Methodist Church in Crane,
serving on numerous committees and various boards of the
church. After his retirement from Chevron Hubert and
Pearl dedicated their lives to the service of young girls
throughout Texas and Internationally through the
International Order of Rainbow for Girls; Hubert served
as Chairman of the Executive Committee in Texas for many
years. Mr. Mills was also a 50-year member of the Masonic
Lodge, Order of the Eastern Star, and served as Worthy
Patron many times, he was also a member Knights Templar.
Mr. Mills is survived by one daughter, Glena Preslar and
her husband Jim of Crane; Grandson, James Preslar of
Midland and Granddaughter Kim Lawson and husband, Jimmy
Lawson of Port Isabel, Texas.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday,
May 12, 2004 at the First United Methodist Church in
Crane and burial in the
Crane County Cemetery.
Services are under the direction of Shaffer-Nichols
Funeral Home.

CRANE
On December 26th, 2003, God looked down and said come
home. Our husband, Dad, and Papa was finally out of pain.
Billy Gean Moore was born January 20th, 1929 in Rising
Star, Texas to William Perry and Etta Mae Moore. He
married Doris Marie Walters on May 15, 1948. He served
his country during the Korean War in the United States
Air Force. He retired from El Paso Natural Gas after 33
years of service. He was a member of the Dorothea Street
Church of Christ. He was also a member of the Masonic
Lodge. He loved to fish and hunt, but his favorite past
time was caring for his pecan trees. He won numerous
awards for his pecans. He will be missed by everyone who
knew him.
He is survived by his wife of 55 and half years, Doris
Moore of Crane; his son, Jeff Moore and his wife Jackie
also of Crane; a daughter, Chandra Hardesty and her
husband Jay of Odessa. Five granddaughters, Heather Moore
of Midland, Yvonne Sanchez and her husband Shaun, and
Stephanie Moore, all of Crane; Jaci Hardesty of Lubbock,
and Rachael Hardesty of Odessa. Four Great grandchildren,
Makayla, Shayde, Tyus, and Isaac.
He is also survived by his brother Audy Moore and his
wife Georgie of Cisco. Two sisters, Merle Rogers of Clyde
and Anna Rae Hunt and her husband Elbert of Texarkana.
Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday,
December 28, 2003 in the
Crane County Cemetery with
Ric Allen officiating. Arrangements are under the
direction of Shaffer-Nichols Funeral Home.
In Lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to a favorite
charity.

Loma Murphy
CRANE, TX
Loma Murphy, 89, died Wednesday, Feb. 6.
Services will at be the Imperial Community Center with
Raquel Mull officiating. Burial will follow in the
Imperial Cemetery under the direction of the
Shaffer-Nichols Funeral Home.
She was born April 4, 1912 in Lovelady to Boykie Kue and
Gertrude Palmer. She married Wince Murphy on Sept. 29,
1933 and they helped build Red Bluff Reservoir.
She was preceded in death by her parents, sister, one
grandson and her husband.
She is survived by her two grandchildren, Prince Boykie
of La Grange and Deneise Reid of
Midland; four grandchildren; and 3 great-grandchildren.

Services for Eunice Neal will be
Saturday at 11 am at the Mt. Zion Baptist Church in
Crane, Tx. Burial will be in
Sunset Cemetery in
Crane under the direction of Thomas Funeral Home.
Born November 19, 1920 in Milam County, Texas, she
departed this life Feb. 21, 2004 in Midland.
She was a member of the Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Crane,
where she was a loyal and faithful member, until her
death. She will always be remembered for her caring
heart. She loved the Lord, her family and helping others.
She leaves to cherish her memory four sons, Clarence Neal
of Arlington, Terry Neal (wife Lovie), Billy Neal (wife
Inola) of Crane, Tx, Willie Neal (wife, Rosa) of Midland,
Tx; two daughters, Margaret Fort (husband Roosevelt) and
Clara Hubert of Midland; thirty grandchildren; 15
great-grandchildren; and many nieces nephews, cousins,
and friends.

Buster Gene Pendleton
Buster Gene Pendleton, 71, a resident
of Burkburnett, Texas, for 30 years, died Feb. 6, 2004,
in Wichita Falls, Texas, following a long illness.
Services will be held at 1 p.m., Wednesday, Feb. 11 at
First Baptist Church in Crane, Texas. Ownes & Brumley
Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
He was born in Cisco, Texas, July 31, 1932 and graduated
from Crane High School in 1951. He attended Texas Tech
and received an associates degree in Electronics from
Odessa College, Odessa, Texas. He married Golda Waleska
Avent on July 7, 1951 in Crane. He joined the Crane
Masonic Lodge in 1953 and was a member of the Burkburnett
Masonic Lodge. He was a past Worthy Patron of OES Chapter
655 and was a member of Central Baptist Church. He was a
loving husband, father, grandfather and caretaker and
never met a stranger. He was an avid reader, hunter and
fisherman and loved music.
He was preceded in death by his father, Buster Pendleton
and his mother, Bertha Lee Rust Pendleton of Eunice, New
Mexico; sister, Carol Patterson and brother-in-law,
Charles Patterson, of Hobbs, New Mexico; and one
grandson, Russell "Rusty" Gene Pendleton of
Midland, Texas.

Norman Plagens
CRANE TX.
Norman Plagens, 70 of Rankin, died Friday, May 25, at his
home.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday, May
28, at the First Baptist Church in Rankin with the Rev.
Jim Medley officating. Burial will be in the Rankin
Cemetery with services under the direction of
Shaffer-Nichols Funeral Home of Crane.
He was born on Oct. 4, 1930 in Bryan. He was a
veteran of
the Korean Conflict. He married Georgia Pokorny on May
29, 1956 in Wall. He was a farmer and a truck driver in
the oilfield. He had lived in Rankin for 30 years and was
a member of First Baptist Church.
He was preceded in dead by a daughter, Marilyn Plagens in
1980, three brothers and three sisters.
Survivors include his wife, Georgia Plagens of Rankin;
three sons, Freddy Plagens of Hondo, Ronald Plagens of
Clinton, Ark., and Steven Plagens of Lytle; four
daughters, Teresa Morgan of Midkiff, Jo James of
Rockwall, Rene Browning of Crane, and Gail Glenn of
Midland; eight Brothers, Milton Plagens of San Angelo,
Edward Plagens of St. Lawrence, Frank Plagens of Dallas,
Clarence Plagens of Rockwall, Donald Plagens of Hamilton,
James Plagens of Big Spring, Earl Plagens of Colorado
City, and Robert Plagens of Bryan College Station;
sister, Alice Pearl Lero of Bryan, and 20 grandchildren.
A visitation will be at Bell-Cypert-Seale Funeral Home
today, May 27, from 7 to 8:30 p.m.
