Oct 15, 2013 I’m looking for my great-grandfather, Elijah Winzer and great-grandmother, Mary Runnels Winzer. They were married in Grimes Co after 1870 and moved north between 1870-1880. Elijah is said to have died in Buffalo, Limestone Co. in 1877. His wife also died before 1880 and my grandmother, Lula Mae Winzer, and her brother, Milton Lee Winzer, were taken in by family members in Reagan, Falls Co. and are on the 1880 census. Any information would be helpful. Mar Ches Sept 25, 2013

is: Jan 28, 2013 I am trying to find someone who knows the history of Limestone county back
during the end of the Civil War period up to about 1910. My Greatgrandfather was
named James Dukes, again that last name is Dukes and not Duke.
My grandmother Molly (Dukes) Dickson was born in Limestone co. and she passed on
stories about why her family was forced out of Mexia during the time period
mentioned. She told us her father was the county Sheriff and after trying to
stop needless murders of blacks he and his family were forced to leave the
county by the KKK. |
