Welcome to Lipscomb County, TXGenWeb!
Lipscomb County was created in 1876 from the northern part of Bexar County. It's the most northeastern county in Texas and bordered on two sides by Oklahoma. The county seat is also named Lipscomb and both are named for Abner S. Lipscomb, Secretary of State of the Republic of Texas, under the administration of the second president, Mirabeau B. Lamar. Lipscomb is currently the home of about 3000 people and it's highest population was during the 1930 census when the oil boom was attracting workers.- On-Site Information
