were made, culminating finally in the disastrous crop failure of 1905.

A railroad was built in Southern Oklahoma and the large and profitable trade from that section was lost at one stroke.

In 1906 the dreaded Mexican boll weevil first showed up in numbers and since that time it has been a continuous menace to the cotton crop.

A social event of about this time was the voting of prohibition. That was probably a benefit.

1910-1919

During this decade occurred the World War, which was the most far-reaching event in all human history and affected everything in this world, no matter where located.

The sham prosperity of 1917-18-19 was the parent of the present depression, which so profoundly affects every living being in this world.

In this decade the automobile was being manufactured in ever-increasing quantities and it was to change the whole social, and financial life more than any other one thing.
