Here follows some of the genealogy of the Wright family. Clayborn Wright, being the first of the Wrights to settle in this part of Texas, came to Pecan Point in 1816 and died there, and was buried in Shawneetown, Oklahoma. After his death most of the children moved to Kiomitia, however, coming from old Jonesboro at the time. They had evidently been at Jonesboro for some time. It is not known whether Clayborn was with them at Jonesboro or whether he stayed at Pecan Point on the north side of Red River. Travis Wright seemed to have been the most important one of the children. He was born in Tennessee and died at Kiomitia in 1875. During the war between the North and South he was quartermaster for that district, having charge of the accumulation of supplies, such as beef and corn, for the Confederates.
Samuel Johnson
Wright was born in 1840 and died in 1915. He was married to Harriet
MacLane of North Carolina and after she died, he married Ione Tanner of
Kansas. She is still living and resides at San Antonio. They had two
children, George Travis, born in 1885, and Ione Ellen, born about 1892.
By the first marriage two girls were born, Bonnie Bell and Travis. Both
of these are still living.
