Born IDA CONSTANT CROUSEN Feb.9, 1899 in Johnson Co., she married MANCE ABLES April 8,1930 in Woodson. He
died in 1962. They lived in Baird after they married and moved to Eastland in 1951 where they farmed and ranched in
Eastland Co. She continued to farm for six years after her husband's death. In 1968 she moved to Breckenridge from
Eastland. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church, the Ladies Auxiliary of Stephens Memorial Hospital and
the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary. Survivors include a sister, ADA SMITH of Yuma, Ariz.;t wo nephews, JOE CROUSEN JR. of Starkville, Miss., and GUIN CROUSEN of Irving; two nieces, CHLOE SHUMACHER of Yuma, Ariz.,

Later,the family moved back to Stephenville for a few years,then to Goree,and on to Eliasville,where she met the man she was to marry,BOB DAWS. The last move by her father was to a community in Throckmorton County later to be called Titus Valley,about four miles west of where the town of Woodson now stands. There she was married to R.D.DAWS,Jan.8,1891. The young couple built a home on land adjoining that of her father's in Titus Valley.They lived in the home until 1905 when the town of Woodson was being planned,then they moved to land next to the townsite and built the house where she lived until her death.
