Mary "Mollie" L. V. Armstrong (1858-1934).
Their children included Martin Luther Armstrong born about 1879, Viola
Armstrong (1881 - 1974 married C.E. Williamson & buried Ore City
Cemetery, Upshur Co. Tx.), Arthur Eldredge Armstrong (27 Nov 1883 - 6
Jan 1952 buried Loveland Burial Park, Loveland, Colorado), Truman
Armstrong (1885 - 1986 buried this same cemetery), Everett Armstrong
(1887-1947 buried Ore City Cemetery), Charles Robert Armstrong (born 10
May 1894 - 20 Oct 1978 buried Forest Park Cemetery, Houston, Tx.), and
Ruby Lillian Armstrong (9 Aug 1899 - Oct 1984 Ore City, Texas, married
Andrew Long). During the Civil War he was transferred from Capt.
Spratt's Company to Co. H, Capt. Gasaway's Company, Clark's Regiment,
Co. I, 14th Texas Infantry. By 1862 and through 1864 he is shown
in Co. F with the same unit and on absent with leave on April 25, 1865
for 40 days. He was wounded in the first day of fighting in the
Battle of Mansfield and was carried off the battlefield by G. W.
Hambright, a witness on his wife's application for a 1 Sep 1909
Confederate Widow's pension. Another witness, W. W. Williamson
(also buried in this cemetery) stated he was in four battles with
Armstrong--Milligens Bend, Marks Mill, Jenkin's Ferry, and the Battle of
Mansfield. Armstrong was discharged in Hempstead,
Texas.

(surrendered on July 4, 1863) and Atlanta. In 1869 he led additional settlers from Banks County Georgia to Coffeeville.
His wife and four children born in Georgia came with him. Captain Ragsdale's
son Ben is buried on one side of the Captain's grave and Ben's wife Mollie
