Thanks to Tom Mitchell for finding this grave and providing us with this information! It is a single grave on the property of Rob Marchell about a mile south of Shady Grove on FM1002 and about 300 feet east of the road. Green Weldon Murphy Green Weldon Murphy had no children of his own and I would like to say a few words for him. I would like to say a word or two about this world class man. I knew "Dub" Murphy when I was a very young girl of 12 years and on until his death. My Grandfather leased the farm just down the road from his dairy barn. He was sweet and kind to all of his cattle. I never heard him say an unkind work about any man or woman. He was always there to lend a helping hand and he was present at almost every wedding and funeral in my family. He had an old beat up pickup truck and two dogs. One he named Lemon and the other he named Jughead. They followed his truck everywhere he went. He had a little black mare named Susy that he let my cousins ride whenever they wanted to and I had my gelding, Chico, and many times we rounded up his dairy cattle or moved them to different pastures, just for the fun of it. He truly loved children and never grew bored or tired of our company. We were little clowns and usually made him laugh until he swallowed his tobacco. He sometimes cooked breakfast of scrambled eggs with cheese for us kids on the weekend. My cousins and I adopted him as a second grandfather. He dearly loved his land there in Shady Grove and I am very glad Beatrice, his wife, was able to get permission for him to be buried there. No finer, kinder man ever lived.
