R. V. BARRETT RITES CONDUCTED SUNDAY
Funeral services for R. V. Barrett were conducted Sunday at 2:30pm from the Lake Victor Baptist Church with the Rev. George Brown
officiating. Interment was in Pleasant Hill Cemetery at Lake
Victor. Briggs-Gamel Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Barrett died in Rollins-Brook Hospital after a week's serious
illness. He had been in poor health only a short time. Born
January 10, 1892 in Evant, Ralph Verna Barrett moved to Lake Victor in 1904 and that had been his home until he moved to Lampasas about a month ago.
He was married June 24, 1911, to Eva Risinger
and she had died in 1952. Mr. Barrett, who was a carpenter and
painter, had been a member of the Woodmen of the World for 46
years. He was a member of the Methodist Church.
Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. Geneva Farquhar of Lampasas; one son, Orion (Red) Barrett of Lampasas; two brothers, Charles Barrett of Harper and Fred Barrett of Austin; three sisters, Mrs. John Paul Jones of Fredericksburg, Mrs. Bertha Farquhar of Glendora, Calif., and Mrs. Ray Gentry of Kingsland; seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Clarence Barrett, Worth Hutto, Gerald Kenan, William Kenan, James Risinger, and Colen Barrett.
