W. W. Barrett

Brother W. W. Barrett was born near Jonesboro, Texas, in Coryell County on June 15, 1858. He was the oldest son of the late Mr. And Mrs. W. W. Barrett, Sr.

On Sunday, February 10, 1878, Brother Barrett was united in marriage to Miss Polly Ann Schreiber, and to this union were born eight children, six of whom still survive.

Brother Barrett received his Masonic Degrees in Coryell Lodge No. 441 A.F.& A. M., located at Jonesboro, Texas, sometime during the early 1800s and 1890s, the exact date not being known.

On September 8, 1894, Brother Barrett affiliated with Emny's Creek Lodge No. 514, located near Lometa, Texas, in Lampasas County. He was elected Worshipful Master of this lodge for the fiscal year 1897-1898. He demitted from Emny's Creek Lodge No. 514 on June 13, 1909, and on August 7, 1909, he affiliated with Robert E. Lee Lodge No. 431 located at Strickland, Texas, in Burnet County. He demitted from Robert E. Lee Lodge No. 431 on October 10, 1909, and on December 9, 1909, he affiliated as a charter member of Lake Victor Lodge No. 1011 A.F. & A.M., located at Lake Victor, Texas, in Burnet County. He was chosen immediately to be the first Worshipful Master of Lake Victor Lodge No. 1011 A.F. & A.M. He was also elected Worshipful Master on three other occasions, and served each term well. He was affectionately called "Daddy Barrett" by his many friends.

He died at Harper, Texas, on August 9, 1936.
