Marvin Lee Butler Sr.,

son of Columbus A. Butler and Mary Francis Taylor served in the American Expeditionary
Forces from 1917 until his honorable discharge in 1919. He was initially at Camp Bowie, TX with Troop E 1st.
Cavalry, then served in France at the rank of Corporal with HQ. Co. 132 Field Artillery. Correspondence was
received at Christmas 1918 from Camp Coetquidau France. His Troop was part of a large parade in Houston,
Texas on April 6, 1919 upon their return from overseas. [Photo of parade]
