Della Culpepper,
age 85 of Briggs, Texas, died on Saturday, August 25th 1996. Mrs.
Culpepper was born on October 18, 1910 in Burnet County Texas, the
daughter of Benjamin Ross and Fannie Peterson.
Mrs. Culpepper was a resident of Burnet County in the Mahomet
community; she grew up living in Burnet, Bertram and Oakalla areas.
She was a school teacher in Oakalla and later in Dripping Springs for
many years. She retired from teaching at age 72. She was a
member of the Eastern Star in Georgetown and later Briggs. After
retiring from teaching she lived in Bertram with her daughter.
Mrs. Culpepper was a member of the 1st Baptist Church of Bertram.
Survivors include her daughter, Charlie Dell Gourley of Briggs; granddaughter and husband, Debbie and Mark Wiley of Liberty Hill, Texas; grandson and wife, M___ and Lisa Gourley of Austin; grandson, Randy Gourley of Briggs; great granddaughter, Wendy Lynn Wiley. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charlie Amos Culpepper in 1971.
Services were held on tuesday, August 27th, 1996 at 10:00 a.m. at
Clements-Wilcox Chapel in Burnet, with interment at Bateman Cemetery in
Bateman, Texas, followed by a 1:00 p.m. graveside service.
