Burnet Banker, Ranch Leader Dies of Stroke

Harris Bowie Duncan, 57, president of the First State Bank of burnet and prominent in ranching circles of Central Texas, died Friday night of a heart attack at his home at Burnet, Burnet County, according to word received by relatives visiting in Dallas.

Bowie Duncan of Egypt, Wharton County, a brother, and Mrs. Duncan, who have been the guests of Mrs. Duncan's mother, Mrs. J. B. Shelmire, 3637 Stratford, left for Burnet immediately after receiving news of the death of a member of their pioneer family.  Another brother, Donald Duncal, also lives at Egypt.
