Marble Falls, Texas, May 2 - Edward Eddans died yesterday at his home in Marble Falls. The scraps of his history procurable, read like a romance. He was born in France of English parents eighty-one years ago. His father fought in the French Revolution, it is said. He himself was a soldier in the late war on the Federal side. He was for years a sailor, twice rounding Cape Horn. He has lived in Burnet County since the 1870s and for the past eight years, lived a hermit. His little house, a marvel of architecture, still stands attached to his goat shed. There he milked his goats, churned the milk and tended his chickens and garden. He lived almost exclusively on the products of these. He is said not to have drunk any other milk or ate any other butter than that furnished by his flock.

He was a member of the Methodist Church of Marble Falls and to it he bequeathed all his earthly belongings, naming Dr. T.M. Yett, president of the First National Bank, as the executor of his will. His one social duty was a scrupulously regular attendance at church. Only severe illness ever kept him away. He was deaf for years, but although minister and the singers could not reach his understanding, the spirit seemed to penetrate his soul. He frequently gave way to tears and shouts of pious rapture. His remains were interred at the City cemetery at 4 p.m. yesterday.
