Information from researcher:

My ggg-grandfather, John C. Gibson, settled on Pecan Creek in 1853 in what was then Burnet County (now Llano County).

He was a cofounder in about 1855 of Little Hope Baptist Church of Christ in the area.  This church was later renamed Pecan Creek Baptist Church of Christ.

He traveled the area on foot to preach at various places, one of which was Oatmeal.  He died 22 July 1859 and is buried in the Pecan Creek Cemetery off of Hwy 71 near Marble Falls.

Eventually, the church was disbanded.  On 10 April 1881 some former members and descendants organized the Macedonia Baptist Church.  It was disbanded in August of 1899.

The Macedonia Baptist Church building burned in the autumn of 1926.

Does anyone have information or pictures related to the churches or the Gibson family?
