No sadder day has ever come to the home of Mr. Wm. Hale, than that of last Thursday, when death carried away his dearly beloved wife, Mrs. Nancy Hale; but this is a debt that must be paid when the summons comes, and we should be prepared to meet it, lest the call should be made when it is least expected.

Mrs. Hale's death was caused from a relapse of a severe case of Lagrippe.  She had been a patient sufferer for several weeks, but found her ready to meet a just God.

Mrs. Nancy Hale was born in Carter county, Tenn., March 2nd, 1837, at which place she wedded to her present husband, and came to Texas in Oct. '75.  She was the mother of two children only:  Mrs. A.G. Hale and Joe Hale, who crossed over the river of death about one year in advance of his mother.

The funeral services and burial took place at the Pleasant Valley cemetery, and was attended by a large number of friends and acquaintances.

We extend our sympathy to the bereaved ones.
