S. A. Hamilton died March 10, 1911 at the home of his son, J. A. Hamilton.
Lagrippe was the fatal malady to which he succombed. At the time
of his death, Mr. Hamilton was more than 77 years of age and was a
consistent member of the Cumberland Presbyterian Church for 60 years.

in San Saba County, courageously contending with the hardships incident
to frontier settlements. He served during the Civil War in
Parson's Brigade. After the war, he settled in Wilson County and
later moved to Burnet County, locating in the Strickling community
where he resided until his death. His wife died about three years
ago. He has two sons living, J. A. and J. R. Hamilton.
