S. A. Hamilton is Dead

S. A. Hamilton died March 10, 1911 at the home of his son, J. A. Hamilton.  Lagrippe was the fatal malady to which he succombed.  At the time of his death, Mr. Hamilton was more than 77 years of age and was a consistent member of the Cumberland Presbyterian Church for 60 years.

He came to Texas from his native state, Arkansas, in 1856 and settled in San Saba County, courageously contending with the hardships incident to frontier settlements.  He served during the Civil War in Parson's Brigade.  After the war, he settled in Wilson County and later moved to Burnet County, locating in the Strickling community where he resided until his death.  His wife died about three years ago.  He has two sons living, J. A.  and J. R. Hamilton.

Mr. Hamilton
was a good man and the Bulletin joins his many friends in extending condolence to the bereaved family.

[Transcriber's note:  Texas Death Certificate states Mr. Hamilton was the son of Alexander Hamilton of Tennessee; mother's maiden name was Robinson, also of Tennessee.  He was born 12 Nov 1833; died 10 Mar 1911, buried 10 March 1911 in Bethel Cemetery.  Death Certificate on file in obituary collection in Burnet's Herman Brown Free Library.]
