Soldiers Remembered

Members of the Llano County UDC Chapter 2500 came together at the Confederate statue on the grounds of the historic Llano County courthouse, where they placed a small Confederate flag in memory of a relative who served in the Civil War.

In addition Lenora Simpson Low, Real Daughter of the Confederacy, placed a wreath at the base of the monument, stating, "I lay this wreath in loving memory of the beloved soldiers who so gallantly fought for their beliefs."

The membership of the chapter stands at 41.  Out of town guests at the meeting included:  Geneva Tetley,  president of the Adam R. Johnson Chapter 2498 in Burnet; Shirley Dean Jenson of Liberty Hill; Lily Short of Valley Springs; Helen Terry of San Saba and Katherine Hancher and Jean Daltwas, both of Llano.
