Died, last Saturday evening at her home, near Joppa, of that dredful disease, diabetes, little Fannie Avrel, eldest daughter of Alexander and Annie Mullins.  Age 10 years, one month, and twenty-six days.  While we sympathize with the broken hearted mother, father, brother and sister, still our sympathy is nothing.  There is only one who can heal our wounds, in God alone can we find comfort, and with these thoughts our saddened hearts grow lighter.  We can only say farewell, my dear dead friend.

"The Lord giveth and the Lord taketh away.  Blessed be the Lord."

"Avrel's form from us has gone,
Her voice in death is stilled.
Her place is vacant in our home,
And never can be filled.

Sleep on, dear Avrel, and take thy rest,
Though sad our hearts today,
We know that God will hear our prayer
If we his words obey.

Oh, may we so have lived while here,
That when our time shall come,
We may all be reunited,
In our Father's heavenly home.
