George Allen Norred, age 59, of Burnet passed away at his home on Tuesday, May 11, 2004, from Pulmonary Fibrosis. He was born in Austin.

George was an avid hunter and fisherman. Special thanks to Ricky Gattis whose kindness and friendship enabled George to deer hunt this past season.

He was preceded in death by his parents, George Edward and Ruby Norred.

He is survived by his wife Carole Norred, of Burnet, his daughters, Michelle Norred, of Georgetown, and Amanda Blevins and husband, Toby of Georgetown; stepsons, Jon Huff and wife, Cindy, of Sonora, CA, and Kevin Huff of Elgin; and extended family, Tonya Kelso and husband, Oscar, of Georgetown, William Greer and wife, Kim, of Houston, Todd Greer and wife, Tonya, of Marble Falls; sisters Patsy Hawley and husband, Bob, of Austin, Verna Rawlings and husband, Rod, of Austin; numerous nieces, nephews and friends. His constant companion was his dog, Wally.

His greatest joy was spending time with his grandchildren. Briana Barnes, Ashlynn and Brittany Blevins, Jon and Austin Huff, Kelcie Jordan, and Zachary Huff, Charles, Jessica, Robert Hinton, and Patty Kelson, Kaitlyn Greer, Christopher Carpenter, Samantha, and Kaleb Greer.

George will be cremated and his ashes will be spread at his deer stand at dawn, and his favorite fishing spot in Rockport.

A Memorial servicewill be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, May 15, 2004, in Burnet, at the Church of Christ on 102 S. Vandeveer.

In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests that donations be made to the Seton Highand Lakes Hospice at P.O. Box 1219, Burnet, Texas 78611. Special thanks for their compassionate care and support during the past months.
