The Cabin was built in 1836, by William M.
Peppers for his bride, Eveline Kincheloe. It was of
two-story construction, 20 feet long and 15 feet wide. The
stairs were built with wooden pegs.
William Peppers served as a Private in the
29 Brigade, Texas Home Guards, Confederate States
Army.. He died in 1888 and is buried in the
Richland Cemetery.
