Thi photograph was taken in Rockbridge Co. Virginia, about
1862, just before Samuel went into the Confederate Army.
Samuel Newton Reed was born in Rockbridge Co., Va.
on August 13, 1847.
He was married in Rockbridge Co. to Mary Catherine
Conner on Aug 8, 1868 in Rockbridge.
Samuel and Mary Catherine came to Burnet Co. in 1872.

Samuel died May 18, 1917.
William Reed was born in Rockbridge Co in 1822 and
remained there until he died in 1883.
