SPANISH-AMERICAN WAR VETERANS ORGANIZE

During the holidays the remnant of the Spanish-American War
veterans in this part of the state met at Burnet and organized a
camp, which will be known as the Ira J.Dawson camp.
The offericers are:
- R.E.Johnson, Commander.
- Albert R.Harvey, Senior Vice Commander.
- H.E.Faubion, Junior Vice Commander.
- Jourdan Everitt, officer of the day.
- Walter Ross, officer of the guard.
- Frank Thomas, Adjutant
- Hugh Gilbreth, Quartermaster
- Holley Berry, Sgt.Major.
- Henry Harness, Quartermaster Sgt.
- Booth Green, Senior Color Sgt.
- Geo.Roper, Junior Color Sgt
- R.A.Renick, Acting Sgt.of the guard
- Holloway Riggs, Will Collin and Seth
Byrson, acting guidon bearers.
- W.W.Hart, Musician
- J.B.Cockrell, Ed Daugherty and W.D.Ross,
Trustees.
The initiation fee is $3.00 and dues $1.25.Another meeting will be
held at an early date,at which time the state commander will be
present.It is to be hoped that every veteran in this part of the
state will send their names in for membership in the organization.
