Ellen Josephine Bird Taylor, 94, died Friday, March 11, 2005. She was born
May 12, 1910 in Williamson County, Texas, the daughter of U. C. and Rosa
Bird.
She was a housewife most of her life. She enjoyed gardening and loved
her family and enjoyed being at home with them.
She is survived by her two daughters and sons-in-law, Nita and Frank Phelps
of Spicewood and Barbara and John Carpenter of Poughkeepsie, Ark. Two sisters
and their husbands, Dorothy and Rodney Amidon of Lake Victor and Lillie and
Ernest Dunn of Burnet; 14 grandchildren, Jimmy Lee Taylor, Tommy Lynn Taylor,
Danny Taylor and Sharon Lusk of Austin, Shirley Bruton and Brenda Larson of
Georgetown, Billy Rogers, Patrick Rogers and Tom Rogers of Spicewood, Mike
Rogers of Granite Shoals and Marilyn Largent of Leander. Jack Carpenter of Marble Falls and Matt Carpenter of Grants, New Mexico.
Also Debra Bacon of Evening Shade, Ark, 26 great grandchildren and 21 great
great Grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and five brothers, Claude, Lloyd,
Marvin, George and Homer Bird. Her husband, Tom A. Taylor: son Jimmy Taylor:
great-grandson Johnny Carpenter and a great-great grandson, Julian
Amidon.
Services were held Monday, March 14, at Clements-Wilcox Funeral Home in
Burnet with Bro. Kenneth Womack officiating. Burial followed at Bear Creek
Cemetery at Bertram.
