- Mrs Haygood of Georgia has been visiting friends in Burnet, Marble and Llano.

- Esq. Spitler has bought out Adam B. Johnson's stock of Furniture.  Mr. Johnson is going to Indian Territory for his health, being a great sufferer from asthma.  This paper's earnest wish is the health and prosperity of both.

- Don't be discouraged about that rain.  It is at hand, and it will be a chip-floater, a root-soaker, a chicken-drowner, and a gully washer.  The lowlands will be under water, and all nature will smile.

- District Attorney Kinnard visited the scene of the Powers murder Monday.
To the stockmen of Burnet County:  When in need of Pasteur's Black Leg Vaccine and supplies, call on Gus Grove, Burnet, Texas.

Heart-Rendering Death

Sue (Bowden) Garrett

A letter from Sergeant J. A. Lewis,  Battery G, 3rd Artillery, now in the Philippines fighting the nation's wards, appears in this issue.  We are obliged to our old friend, Elias Allen, for the courtesy.

Mrs. Jack Boyce and sweet little Linna left last week for Taylor on a visit to Rev. Arbuckle's family.
