Up to last Saturday, the surveying corps of the H. & T.C. had gone as far as Mesquite (14 miles north of Burnet) one third of the way to Lampasas.  This is the preliminary survey.  There will be one or two others.  The impression seems to be that the new depot will be built upon the old site.

A social meeting of the W. C. T. U. was held at the residence of Mrs. Ealy Moses in commemoration of the birthday of Miss Francis E. Willard, Monday afternoon, Sept 30th.
